Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 star Kiara Advani says you can't compare what male co-stars get to do in comedies

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which is the spiritual sequel to the iconic 2007 movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, is a highly anticipated movie. Kiara Advani, who stars in the sequel with Kartik Aaryan, has now opened up about comedies, saying that the laws are different for male and female actors. 

The actor told PTI, "It's very rare that a female protagonist adds a punch. I am still craving to do that. I'm part of these films, they all have had an interesting arc to the characters. But if I've to compare it to what your male protagonist is doing, then you just can't compare." 

The actor said that it is unfortunate that female actors can't compare to what their male counterparts can do in comedies. She said that it is a disappointment and that now is the time to start speaking up and telling the director that you want more. She further added that maybe now, she will start doing it too.

Advani also said that comedy is a tough genre to crack and that it does not get enough credit. She said that actors who can pull off comedy are just gifted. 

Having impressed in movies such as Kabir Singh, Guilty and Shershaah, the actor has also awed the audience in the comedy film, Good Newwz. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is also a horror comedy and will follow many of the traits the original showed. However, director Anees Bazmee had earlier said that the movie will not be a psychological horror. 

Apart from Kiara and Kartik Aaryan, the movie also stars Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles. The sequel is set to hit theatres on May 20.
