Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 teaser: Kartik Aaryan takes on the mantle in this sequel to Akshay Kumar’s iconic horror comedy

A sequel to any iconic movie from the past comes with a lot of expectations and that is the case with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The makers of the horror comedy, which stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead, have now released the movie’s first official teaser.

The short teaser, which was released on the T-Series channel, starts off by taking us back to the haunted mansion and the door was sealed with magic to ward off the evil spirits that lie within. We get a look into the door where we see a ghastly figure. 

The tone of the clip then makes a dramatic shift, and turns into comedy. With the iconic background score from the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa movie, we see Kartik emerging out of a room in style, accompanied by Rajpal Yadav. 

While the teaser doesn’t reveal any information about what the movie will be about, it gives the clear indication that it will try to fuse comedy with horror, just like how the original movie did successfully. 

Released in 2009, Bhool Bhulaiyaa was directed by Priyadarshan and starred Akshay Kumar, Ameesha Patel, Shiney Ahuja, Vidya Balan, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav and Vikram Gokhale. The psychological horror comedy was a remake of the groundbreaking Malayalam movie, Manichitrathazhu. 

Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Anjum Khetani and Krishan Kumar under the banner of T-Series and Cine 1 Studios.

The movie is slated to hit theatres on May 20.
