The trailer for Kartik Aaryan's horror-comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is officially out and has been trending since. The film, which also stars Kiara Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Angad Bedi in prominent roles, is a standalone sequel to Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) by Priyadarshan.
The trailer shows Kartik playing a con artist as a ghostbuster named Ruhan or Rooh baba. A womanizer, he is seen hugging and flirting with women on the pretext of being possessed by the spirits of their loved ones. Seeing the luck of Kartik, the other tantriks or babas, played by Rajpal Yadav get jealous and Yadav compares his drama with Salman Khan-hosted reality show, Bigg Boss. He says, “Isse accha hota Bigg Boss mein chale jaata toh kam se kam bejazzti ke paise toh mile," which translates to, ‘I should’ve gone to Bigg Boss instead, where I would have at least been paid to get humiliated’.

The legendary comic Rajpal Yadav poked fun of not only his own condition, but also that of other cast members with his Bigg Boss statement. Bigg Boss is one of the most controversial shows, hosted by Salman Khan where popular celebrities are locked inside the house with each other for a couple of weeks and made to perform tasks to win the show. The show recently ended its 15th Season.
Meanwhile, the story of the film takes place 15 years after the initial events and reintroduces the singing ghost Manjulika. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee and also stars Sanjay Mishra. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Krishan Kumar under their banners of T-Series and Cine 1 Studios respectively, the film is all set to be released in theatres on May 20, 2022.
