Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi's film Bhool Chuk Maaf has been going through a release date issue. The film, which was originally scheduled for a theatrical release on May 9, was cancelled by the makers and they announced that it will directly land on Amazon Prime Video on May 16. However, PVR INOX sued Maddock Films, and following this, the Bombay HC ordered a halt to the release date. Amid this, Maddock Films shared a post that gained attention on social media.
Amid the release date issue, Maddock Films shared a post on their official Instagram account. The post is shared with the collaboration of Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi, and director Karan Sharma. The post showed that Bhool Chuk Maaf is currently one of the most anticipated new Indian movies on IMDb.
They captioned it, "Ruling the anticipation charts! Bhool Chuk Maaf #1 on IMDb."

The Bombay High Court has ordered a stay on the release of Bhool Chook Maaf on Amazon Prime Video following a legal dispute between the film's producer Maddock Films and theatre chain PVR Inox. The court ordered that the film cannot be released on any platform until the agreed theatrical window of 8 weeks is over.
Speaking about skipping the theatrical release of Bhool Chuk Maaf, the producers—Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios—released a statement which reads: "In light of recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we, at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios, have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16 only on Prime Video, worldwide."

The upcoming romantic-comedy film is about a small-town groom named Ranjan (Rajkummar Rao), who gets stuck in a time loop, waking up repeatedly on the morning of his haldi ceremony before his wedding to Titli (Wamiqa Gabbi). The story explores themes of love, fate, and redemption. The film is directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Maddock Films.
