Bhoothakaalam trailer: Revathy-Shane Nigam as mother-son will leave you intrigued from the very first frame

The trailer for the upcoming Malayalam film Bhoothakaalam is finally out. The film features Revathy and Shane Nigam in the lead roles and has skipped the theatrical release for OTT streaming. The trailer starts with an intriguing sequence featuring the lead actors. It gives a glimpse into the mother-son relationship Revathy and Nigam share. The Kumbalangi Nights actor is seen as a D Pharm graduate who is living life lazily.

While his mother, played by Revathy, is constantly worried about him. However, one incident in their lives changes the whole course, and that forms the basic premise of the film. According to the makers, a mother and son's perspective of reality is distorted by the loss of a family member and the inexplicable occurrences that follow.

Teresa Rani and Sunila Habeeb produce the film Bhoothakaalam, which is directed by Rahul Sadasivan. The cinematographer is Shehanad Jalal, and the editor is Shafique Mohamed Ali. Liju Prabhakar, a colourist, is also involved in the project. Manu Jagath is in charge of the production design. 

Gopi Sundar is in charge of the film's background scores, while MR Rajakrishnan is in charge of the audiography department. Sameera Saneesh, an award-winning costume designer, is also in the film, as is Ronex Xavier, the makeup artist.

Interestingly, Nigam has donned the hat of the music composer for the film.

The film was announced in October 2021. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the film has opted for an OTT release. Bhoothakaalam is set to stream on SonyLIV from January 21, 2022.
