Bhramam, the Malayalam remake of Andhadhun is set to be an Amazon Prime release in India.
Just a few days before the release of Bhramam, Prithviraj Sukumaran subtly dropped the teaser of the much-awaited film. The Malayalam remake of the Hindi film Andhadhun features the actor-filmmaker in the leading role. The film is set for an OTT release on Amazon Prime Video and the trailer starts with an old song of Shankar and Meneka titled Sarathkaala Sandhya from the 1983 film Engane Nee Marakkum. In Bhramam, Shankar plays the role of a former actor originally played by Anil Dhawan.
The teaser is more or less similar to that of Andhadhun wherein each of the main cast from the film is introduced. Prithviraj is seen as a pretentious blind pianist who falls in love with Raashii Khanna's character, wherein Mamta Mohandas is seen as a cunning onscreen wife of Shankar. On the other hand, Unni Mukundan also features in the teaser as a tough cop who comes face to face with Prithviraj's character.
The supporting cast of Bhramam includes Jagadish Kumar, Ananya Nair Shine Tom Chacko among others.
Directed by Ravi K. Chandran, Bhramam is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video on October 7, 2021, only in India. The film has opted for a theatrical release in the rest of the countries.
Earlier talking about the same, Prithviraj had told RJ Mithun Ramesh, "What’s interesting about the film is that it will be a theatrical release in GCC countries and on the same day, for the rest of territories, it will be an OTT release on Amazon."
The actor also spoke about how this will soon be the future of entertainment in the country. He said, "It’s an interesting future, not just for Malayalam cinema, but for the industry itself."
This is the third outing of Prithviraj on Amazon Prime after Cold Case and Kuruthi.
