Pranabesh Chandra and Santanu Basu’s social drama Bhuban Babur Smart Phone is all set to hit theatres. The trailer of the film which features Chinta Mukhopadhyay, Paran Bandyopadhyay, Kharaj Mukhopadhyay and others was dropped on social media on August 18. While the music is composed by Chandrabindoo’s frontman Upal Sengupta, the background score is composed by Dishari Chakraborty.

The trailer shows a simple old man getting messed up in the complexities of a smartphone. He has been forced by his young and modern boss to buy a phone. Without having a clear idea of its operation, he keeps on faltering. He gets completely confused with WhatsApp, touchscreen and all the other paraphernalia of the phone. In fact, his ignorance leads to a bigger mess and he gets warnings from cops.

The film will be released on September 2. While talking about the film, Pranabesh said, “We finally finished the film. It is based on a story penned by Santanu. It is a simple and fun film. I am sure people will like it.” Meanwhile, Santanu said, “The film talks about a man who belongs to a different generation. He grew up in an era when there were not many gadgets. He finds it difficult to adjust to modern-age technology. But he is forced to buy a smartphone. The film revolves around the difficulties and plight of this man.”

Veteran actor Paran Bandyopadhyay said that the film is wholesome entertainment. “I refuse to disclose anything about the film as it will spoil everything. I can only tell you that Santanu has a strong sense of humour. While he works in a quite dry administrative job, he brings out fun through his writings,” he said. In the trailer, Paran Bandyopadhyay is seen in a loud red suit. Talking about his look, he said, “It is carefully created for the audience. They can find it interesting or disgusting. But the look is dedicated to them.”
