In a chat with News 18 recently, Bhumi Pednekar, 34, underlined what she wishes to pursue professionally in her career ahead. She told the news outlet, “I do have Hollywood aspirations. I feel it is the best time for artists to be ambitious because the world is now a melting pot of cultures, of diversity, and authenticity. Actors now can have a very active career internationally because of the kind of films and series being made or the kind of roles being written for them.”
Bhumi further expressed her observation that actresses with brown skin tones are increasingly gaining recognition on the international stage, citing examples like Ambika Mod from Netflix's "One Day." She emphasized the significance of seeing an Indian-origin actress in a prominent lead role within a successful global series, which has resonated with audiences worldwide. According to her, casting actors from India or the subcontinent for characters from that region adds authenticity to the portrayal, enhancing the on-screen representation of cultural nuances and diversity.
Bhumi Pednekar and her Bollywood journey
In her upcoming project, Bhumi Pednekar will co-star with Rakul Preet Singh and share the screen with Arjun Kapoor in the comedy titled 'Meri Patni Ka Remake'.
