Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar's romantic comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi recently hit the big screen. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the movie opened in theatres on February 21, 2025. Also starring Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh, the movie failed to work at the box office. In a recent interview, Bhumi opened up about the box office failure of her movie. The actress also shared that a certain section of the audience spoke well about Mere Husband Ki Biwi.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Bhumi Pednekar reflected on the lukewarm response to Mere Husband Ki Biwi at the ticket window. "We did everything that we could and whoever is going into the theatre is liking the film. As far as somebody finds something to connect with the film, I am okay with it. What we were also trying to make was also a fun popcorn watcher, if it is successful in doing that, that's enough," Bhumi said.

The B-Town actress further hoped for the era of 'word-of-mouth' movies doesn't fade away. Pednekar added that she wouldn't have been in the industry if such movies didn't exist. She stated that all her movies have been 'word-of-mouth' films.

In the same conversation, Bhumi shared her thoughts about doing two-heroine projects. Calling herself a 'secure' actor, the actress admitted that she enjoys working on such films. "I genuinely had the most fun working on films that have another strong female part, because as girls we just understand each other," added Bhumi.

Bhumi made her Bollywood debut with Dum Laga Ke Haisha opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in 2015. The actress later starred in movies such as Bala, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Saand Ki Aankh, Badhaai Do, Sonchiriya, Raksha Bandhan, Govinda Mera Naam, Thank You For Coming and many more. Her upcoming projects are The Royals and Daldal.
