About Amar Singh Chamkila

Amar Singh Chamkila is the biopic of a Punjabi singer by the same name, who was popular in his time. The young artist was shot dead on March 8 in 1988. He was just 27 at the time. Diljit plays the role of the singer and Parineeti Chopra is seen as his on-screen wife. Amar Singh Chamkila will release on Netflix on April 12. This is a day after Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, helmed by Amit Sharma, and Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, releases in theatres. The latter is an adaptation from David Dhawan directed 1998 film, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in the lead roles.
