The rising COVID-19 cases in the country have already pushed the release date of director Rumi Jaffery’s Chehre, which has Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead. The movie, which was scheduled to hit theatres on April 9, has been delayed, and recently the movie's producer Anand Pandit also hinted that it could release on OTT.

In an interview with News18, Pandit said, “I don’t see theatres opening soon. Our preference would be theatres, but if that is a long-drawn process then we might think about OTT. We will take this call maybe after a month.”

Chehre revolves around an 80-year-old man with a penchant for games with his group of friends. Apart from Bachchan who plays a lawyer and Hashmi who essays the role of a business tycoon, the movie also features Krystle D'Souza, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor, Annu Kapoor, Dhritiman Chatterjee and Raghubir Yadav in pivotal roles.

Earlier this year, the poster of Chehre created quite a stir, as many social media users questioned the absence of Chakraborty, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau after the death of her boyfriend and actor Sushanth Singh Rajput, in the poster.

Responding to this, Pandit, in an interview with Indian Express, said, "I don’t see any reason for not mentioning her name. She is among the eight artistes in the film. We signed her much earlier and she completed her part satisfactorily. So, we are looking at her as one of the actors who’s done a good job. Also, I don’t want to take undue advantage of her situation for the commercial benefit of my film."
