The latest season of Bigg Boss, Bigg Boss 16, kicked off with a bang. Salman Khan returned to his hosting duties for the latest season of the popular reality show and introduced the contestants during the show’s grand premiere on Saturday. Sajid Khan, who has been staying away from the limelight, is one of the confirmed contestants of the show this season, and it seems that the filmmaker is looking to start a new chapter in his life this year.

Who is Sajid Khan?

Sajid Khan is the son of former actor Kamran Khan, and Menaka Khan. The latter is the sister of Honey Irani and Daisy Irani. Sajid’s elder sister is filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan.

Sajid made his directorial debut with the 2006 anthology film Darna Zaroori Hai, writing and directing the segment that featured Manoj Pahwa and Sarita Joshi. The filmmaker then went on to helm popular Bollywood films such as Akshay Kumar’s Heyy Babyy(2007), Ajay Devgn’s Himmatwala (2013) as well as installments in the popular Housefull film franchise.

The director’s last film was the 2014 film Humshakals, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Tamannaah Bhatia, Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu in lead roles.

Sajid Khan’s controversy

In the wake of the India’s MeToo movement, Sajid was accused of sexual harrassment by several women, including Mandana Karimi, Saloni Chopra and Rachel White. Following the allegations, he stepped down as director of Housefull 4, and the directorial duties of the film were taken up by Farhad Samji.

Sajid Khan’s upcoming project

After a gap of almost 8 years, Sajid recently announced his upcoming directorial, 100%, starring John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shehnaaz Gill and Nora Fatehi. The upcoming film will be bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Amar Butala, and is scheduled for release next year.
