Bigg Boss 16 Shanivaar Ka Vaar: Sreejita De becomes first contestant to be evicted from Salman Khan’s show

Bigg Boss 16 fans and housemates were in for a shock on Shanivaar Ka Vaar. Sreejita De was the surprise and first eviction of the season. Salman Khan announced Sreejita’s eviction on the second Shanivaar Ka Vaar and nobody could believe that she is out of the house.

Sreejita is a rather popular name on Television and she entered Bigg Boss 16 with Tina Datta. The actresses, who are only friends, never really opened up on what went wrong. Sreejita and Tina were touted to be BFFs at one point of time.

Sreejita was, in fact, the first person that Bigg Boss targetted. Her relationship with Tina came to the fore and post that, Sreejita was just trying to find her space in the house. She would sometimes bond with Archana Gautam and other times with Gori Nagori. Nothing about Sreejita was clear, except one thing – that she did not want to be where Tina was.

Apart from that, Sreejita was a name barely spoken in the house despite her identity. The only time when she made headlines was for her fight with Manya Singh. It was when Sreejita question Manya who she is and the former Miss India runner-up said she represented her country. Manya had also looked down upon TV celebs through the same statement. She said that Sreejita is merely a TV actress but she has represented India. The statement had not gone down well with obviously Sreejita, Salman Khan and many other celebs. Sreejita stated that she does not need to explain to Manya her work, while Salman said Manya think ‘she is angaar’ and the rest are ‘bhangaar,’ right after the statement. In this week, Sreejita’s contribution (at least on the episodes of the show) was minimal. She was not even in the bottom till the last week. However, the game has changed massively. MC Stan and Ankit Gupta, who received warnings, have spoken up on the show and thus, they were safe this week. Sreejita, though, was evicted but on a beautiful note.

The first evicted contestant got all the luck from Salman. Thanks to Sajid Khan, Sreejita also got applauds from all the housemates. She also received hugs from everyone, including Tina. Sajid left her with a message that she has dressed up like a bahu whose bidai is taking place.

Bigg Boss 16 airs on TV and streams on Voot simultaneously. The show is available for streaming at 9.30 pm on weekends and 10 pm on weekdays.
