Avinash Mishra slams Elvish Yadav over his racist comment against Chum Darang: 'You cannot say anything in name of...'

The Salman Khan-hosted show Bigg Boss 18 might have ended on January 19, 2025, but the controversies are ongoing outside the house. Recently, Rajat Dalal, who was the second runner-up of Bigg Boss 18, and Elvish Yadav made headlines for their racist remarks against Chum Darang. In no time, the entire thing blew up and netizens started slamming Elvish and Rajat for their insensitive comments. Now, Avinash Mishra has reacted to the controversy and condemned the comment. He said that the racist comment shouldn't have been made. 

Avinash Mishra slams Rajat Dalal and Elvish Yadav

In a recent chat with Bollywood Bubble, Avinash Mishra, who is rumored to be in a relationship with his fellow Bigg Boss 18 contestant Eisha Singh, said that he called Rajat after watching the particular clip. He asked him to drop his bad side and instead showcase the good side which is adored by the fans.

Avinash said, "He told me that it was scripted and that they were given a script. What script? If it was a script, didn’t you read it? How can you say this after reading it? He is a very nice guy but this side of his…I told him to shut it. Bad side, just drop it. It is not required. Your good side is being loved. Saying that it was scripted is just an excuse."

He further continued, "This should not have been said. I am sure he also knows that he has made a mistake. I don’t think he will do such podcasts again. What else can I say? I watched it and felt very weird. Why would somebody say things like this? You cannot say anything in the name of roast."

What did Elvish Yadav say about Chum Darang?

In his podcast with Rajat Dalal, Elvish went below the belt as he made a racist comment against the Badhaai Do actress. He said, "Karan Veer ko pakka COVID tha kyunki Chum kisko pasand aati hai bhai, itna taste kiska kharab hota hai! Aur Chum ke toh naam mein hi ashleelta hai… Naam Chum aur kaam Gangubai Kathiawadi mein kiya hai."

After the clip went viral, Chum also reacted strongly against Elvish and slammed him for making such a derogatory comment. A part of her post read, "Disrespecting someone’s identity & name is not ‘fun.’ Mocking someone’s achievements is not ‘banter.’ It’s time we draw the line between humor and hate. What’s even more disappointing is that this wasn’t just about my ethnicity, my hard work and a film backed by a visionary like Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also disrespected."

She also used hashtags like NoRoomForRacism and NotOkaywithRacism while sharing her note on her Instagram story.
