Chum Darang has finally spoken against Elvish Yadav's racist comment, days after he issued a statement clearing his stance on the matter. Elvish had passed racist comments against Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum, by stating that her name is filthy. He further mentioned Chum working in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Chum Darang issues statement against Elvish Yadav

Chum Darang has called out Elvish Yadav for disrespecting her name and identity. She specified that it is 'not fun,' and mocking someone's achievements is 'not banter.' While stating so, she demanded that it was time to draw the line between humor and hate. "What's more disappointing is that this wasn't just about my ethnicity, my hard work and a film backed by a visionary like Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also disrespected," she pointed out. While stating so, Chum stood by her fellow Northeasterners who have often faced such racist comments. "I see you, I hear you, and I stand with you. We all deserve respect, dignity, and equality," she shared. Chum ended her note by asking to promote a culture of empathy, kindness and understanding.

Elvish Yadav's comments against Chum Darang

Back when Elvish was on the podcast with Rajat Dalal, is where they ended up speaking ill of the two women who made it to Bigg Boss' top 6 contenders. While Rajat said men marry women like Eisha Singh because they need a maid, Elvish commented on Chum, "Naam mein hi ashleelta hai aur kaam Gangubai Kathiawadi." He questioned what would Karan Veer Mehra have liked in Chum Darang and said, "Karanveer ko pakka COVID tha kyunki Chum kisko pasand aati hai bhai, itna taste kiska kharab hota hai!"

Bigg Boss 18 winner fiasco

While early trends suggested that Rajat Dalal was winning Bigg Boss 18, and Elvish Yadav tried his level best to promote Rajat through the Elvish Army, the end result was something unexpected. Rajat was the second runner-up of the show. Despite being the Bigg Boss 18 'laadla,' Vivian Dsena ended as the first runner-up while Karan Veer picked up the trophy, right after being declared Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 winner. Karan expressed his emotions for Chum inside the show, but the two are yet to make things official in the outside world.
