Bigg Boss 19 Finale: Salman Khan and Dharmendra's promise broken, tearful goodbye on 90th birth anniversary

Salman Khan paid a tearful goodbye to industry veteran Dharmendra at the recently held Bigg Boss 19 grand finale. The video is now going viral owing on Dharmendra's 90th birth anniversary. At the grand finale, held on the night of December 7, 2025, Salman Khan played the video in which he recalled asking Dharmendra to visit the sets. At the time, Dharmendra said, "Salman ho aur Dharam na aaye, aisa ho sakta hai kya?" Unfortunately, Dharmendra breathed his last on November 24 and the promise was broken. Apart from his 90th birthday celebrations, Dharmendra would have also promoted his upcoming movie Ikkis, which now is now touted as his last acting venture.

Salman Khan's tearful tribute to Dharmendra

Salman Khan broke down as he remembered the veteran superstar Dharmendra Deol at Bigg Boss 19 grand finale. "We lost the He-Man. We lost the most amazing man. I don't think there is anyone better than Dharmji. The way he lived life was king-size. He gave us Sunny, Bobby and Esha. Since the day he joined the industry, he only wanted to work. He did so many roles. My career graph… I have only followed Dharmji. He came with an innocent face and a He-Man’s body. That charm stayed with him till the end. Love you, Dharmji. Will always miss you," the actor said after rewatching the video where the duo promised to meet again.

Dharmendra's 90th birth anniversary

Dharmendra would have turned 90-year-old today i.e. on December 8, 2025. Salman spoke about the same stating how Dharmendra’s birthday was on the same day as Salman Khan’s mother. Co-incidentally, Dharmendra passed away on Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan’s birthday.

On the work front, Dharmendra last appeared in National Award-winning film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani along with Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon's Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. His movie Ikkis is scheduled for theatrical release on Christmas i.e. December 25, 2025. The movie marks Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda's Bollywood debut. It will also feature The Family Man 3 actor Jaideep Ahlawat as one of the leads.
