Bigg Boss 9 Telugu: Kannada actress Kavya Shetty to spice up the new season

Bigg Boss is one of the most-watched reality shows in Telugu television and the OTT space. The crazy show is back, and we at OTTplay have already revealed that the ninth season will kickstart from September 7, 2025.

Kavya Shetty to enter Bigg Boss 9 Telugu

Now, we have an interesting update, and that is, noted Kannada actress Kavya Shetty is all set to enter the Telugu Bigg Boss house this season.

A source close to the show has revealed to us that Kavya was supposed to be part of the show last year, but that did not happen. That’s the reason the makers have now roped her in for season nine. Though an official confirmation is yet to be made, this news is slowly going viral in film circles. 

Kavya Shetty is a prominent name in Kannada cinema and made her acting debut with the film Nam Duniya Nam Style. She gained popularity through films like Ishtakamya, Zoom, Silicon City, and Bro Daddy. Thanks to her looks and the way she carries herself on screen, the makers feel that Kavya will add a lot of spice to the show.

We have already reported that stars like Vijay Sunny, Manas, and Priyanka Jain, who appeared in previous seasons, are also expected to grace the show as wild card entries.

This time, Bigg Boss 9 is also special, as it will feature commoners taking part in the show. The applications have been locked, and the makers have received thousands of entries, which are now being shortlisted.

Akkineni Nagarjuna returns as the host and is personally overseeing the final selection of contestants. In the previous season, he was trolled for bringing in small-time YouTubers and social media influencers, which didn’t sit well with many. That’s why he is taking extra care this time to lock the final list.
