Bigg Boss 9 Telugu is all set to kick off in the second week of September 2025. This season promises to be special, with several controversial celebrities expected to grace the show. We at OTTplay have learned that noted actress Kalpika Ganesh will be one of the participants this year.

Bigg Boss 9 Telugu is getting bigger by the day

Kalpika has been in the industry for a long time and was recently seen in the super hit web series Loser, now streaming on OTTplay Premium. Gossip suggests that the makers have roped her in by offering a hefty paycheck. Kalpika made headlines recently following a brawl at a popular pub in Hyderabad. 

Just the other day, she was also spotted arguing with the staff of a resort who allegedly misbehaved with her. These incidents have kept her in the spotlight, and if she joins the show, Kalpika is expected to add a lot of spice and drama. However, an official confirmation about her participation is still awaited from Kalpika Ganesh.

The young actress is also in the news as her father Sanghavar Ganesh has filed a police complaint stating that her daughter has mental issues and needs help. This has given a new twist to her taking part in the show. 

A few days ago, we also reported that comedian Emmanuel of Jabardasth fame has been locked in as another contestant. This season is extra special, as for the first time, a few commoners will also be part of the show. Hotstar has finalized close to 40 commoners, who will participate in various tasks as part of a special pre-entry program to be aired soon on JioCinema.

Sreemukhi to host a special segment of Bigg Boss 9 Telugu

Anchor Sreemukhi, a former Bigg Boss contestant herself, will be seen in this special segment. Once a few commoners are selected through this program, they will make a grand entry into the Bigg Boss 9 house along with the celebrity contestants. The show will also be available for streaming on OTTplay Premium.

Meanwhile, Akkineni Nagarjuna returns as the host once again and has personally finalized the list of contestants. A swanky new set is currently being constructed at Annapurna Studios, and more details about the other participants will be revealed soon.
