Bigg Boss 9 Telugu: Seasoned Tollywood comedian, Suman Setty to grace the new season

Bigg Boss 9 Telugu is just days away from its launch episode. We at OTTplay have already revealed that the show will be available for streaming on Jio Hotstar via OTTplay Premium from September 7, 2025. Continuing our trend of updating readers with the list of celebs joining the show, we have now learned that popular yesteryear comedian Suman Setty has been confirmed as a contestant.

Suman was a noted comedian in the early 2000s and has acted in over 100 films to date. He made his debut with the Nithiin starrer Jayam and became an overnight sensation in Telugu cinema. However, in recent years, his comedic style has lost its appeal, and filmmakers have stopped casting him.

As he also leads a controversial life, the makers felt he would add spice to the new season. Sources from the unit confirm that Akkineni Nagarjuna played a key role in bringing Suman Seetty on board. Ever since news came out that he will join the show, there have been mixed reactions from the audience about Suman's entry.

On the other hand, Bigg Boss 9 Telugu will also feature commoners for the first time. To select them, a pre-show titled Agnipariksha is currently streaming on OTTplay Premium. The show is in its finale week, and from the final 15 contestants, five will be chosen to join the celebs in the Bigg Boss house.

Bigg Boss 9 Telugu to have two houses

This season introduces a major twist with two houses, one for commoners and one for celebrities. After facing criticism last season, the makers decided to add this fresh element along with a mix of popular celebs. Already, names like Jabardasth Emmanuel, social media star Rithu Chowdary, and Ramya Moksha have been confirmed.
