In the last few days, the big buzz on social media was about a list, purportedly containing the names of the 18 contestants headed into the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 house. The names on this list included Sagar Biligowda, Vijay Suriya, Shwetha R Prasad, Dr Bro, Sanjana Burli, among others. But with the actual contestants moving into the house for the shoot of the grand opening, which is scheduled to be telecast on September 28 from 6.30 pm, whole new set of names are being heard. The makers had, after all, said that audiences ought to expect the unexpected.
For starters, there is actor Cockroach Sudhi, whose participation is more or less confirmed, after an official promo of a masked contestant was released by Colors Kannada. Despite the cap, sunglasses and mask covering most of his face, the hair, body language, gait and his voice gave him away.
Some of the other names of supposedly confirmed contestants include Rashika Shetty, Spandana Somanna, Suraj Kumar, Abhishek Shrikanth, Dhanush Gowda, Megha Shetty, Bhumika Basavaraj, Jhanvi R, Shreyas Manju, Shwetha R Prasad, Dilip Shetty, Mutant Raghu, among others. Shanvi Srivastava’s name is also doing the rounds, although chances of her being on the show seem slim.
Bigg Boss Kannada 12, which will stream on JioHotstar (via OTTplay Premium also), will go on for 100 days. The show is being shot at a new house. Sudeep returns as host, having reconciled with the makers after his exit at the end of Season 11. The Kannada superstar is now on a 4-year contract with the showrunners, which should see him through Season 15. This has, reportedly, come at a significant remuneration increase.
In the initial stages of Bigg Boss Kannada 12, Sudeep will be juggling work on his next film, Mark, which he is looking at wrapping up by the end of October. Thereafter, in November, he will join the Celebrity Cricket League for its 12th season.
