Bigg Boss Kannada 12 begins on Sunday, September 28 with the grand opening to be telecast at 6 pm on Colors Kannada and JioHotstar (via OTTplay Premium also). According to the latest buzz, this season will be different not only in terms of the contestants, house and tasks, but the weekend episodes will be made extra special with Kannada movie promotions.
In the past the Bigg Boss Kannada house was among the shows that Kannada film teams aimed to be on to promote themselves, but that’s not been the case in recent times. In fact, last year, netizens were hopeful that host Sudeep would promote his own Christmas release in the house, but didn’t. That, according to sources, will change this year.
Kantara Chapter 1 team the maiden guests on BBK12?
This Sunday, September 28, the team of Kantara Chapter 1, led by actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty is expected to be in the house. The channel has not confirmed this yet, but the buzz is that a promo for the same will drop shortly. Rishab has been in the house earlier and has been vocal about his admiration for Sudeep. He and Rakshit Shetty were part of the trailer launch of Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona in 2022. So, it would not be surprising to see the Kantara actor-director in the house, days ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
Bigg Boss Kannada 12, meanwhile, is pretty much following the schedule of the earlier season, and is expected to wind up around January 25, 2026. The show apparently got a delayed start this time, with the showrunners keen to begin along with the Malayalam or Hindi version, which have been on air for a while now. Sudeep, though, had requested a delay, to accommodate shooting schedules of his ongoing project, Mark, which he wants to wrap up by the end of October and have in theatres for Christmas 2025.
