On his birthday today, Kannada star Kiccha Sudeep confirmed that he will be back as the host of the popular Kannada reality show Bigg Boss Kannada for the 11th time, with the 10th season set to drop soon. Last year, Sudeep had hosted the first-ever six-week long Bigg Boss Kannada OTT season, the top 4 contestants of which progressed to the 100-day TV season. This year, going by his social media, it seems that the telecasting channel Colors Kannada is skipping the OTT season.
The 10th Season, according to the announcement video, will have something special, and netizens have been wondering what the showrunners could have in store this time around. For Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9, the contestants were a mix of Bigg Boss Kannada veterans, like Arun Sagar, Anupama Gowda, Divya Uruduga, Prashant Sambargi, among others, four winners from the OTT season and the rest newbies. The format was praveenaru vs naveenaru and for the first several weeks, the contestants who were being voted out were all the newcomers, as the veterans as well as the freshly-popular OTT contestants already had a fan base and knew how to work the game in the Bigg Boss house. RJ and actor Roopesh Shetty, who won the OTT season, emerged winner of the TV season as well, eventually.
Netizens do not want a repeat of Season 9 and are hopeful that the showrunners will present an interesting set of new contestants on the show. They also suggested that eliminations should begin only at the end of two weeks, so that audiences get ample time to get to know the participants well. Some also said that the participants ought to be popular social media influencers – YouTubers to be precise. The promo shoot for Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10 is expected to be held on September 10, with a formal announcement at a press conference by September 15. Tentative date for the show to kickstart is the weekend of September 30-October 1.
