Kiccha Sudeep will be at the helm of affairs as the host of the latest season as well
Bigg Boss Kannada is one of the most popular reality shows on television, so it was expected to be back for a 10th season soon. What was not known was whether the showrunners would yet again experiment with an OTT-only mini season and, more importantly, if Kiccha Sudeep would return to host Bigg Boss Kannada, considering that the actor-filmmaker is bang in the midst of shooting for his first film since last year’s Vikrant Rona and has a few others lined up, including a project that he will direct for KRG Studios, called King Kichcha.
Today, Colors Kannada, the general entertainment channel that will present the show clarified that there will only be a 100-day TV season with a sneak peek of the promo featuring Sudeep. While an earlier promo suggested that this time around something special would be unveiled on the show, the latest one tells audiences to prepare for a 100-day ooru habba. It’s time to celebrate, exhorts the promo. While this effectively rules out the possibility of a second season of Bigg Boss Kannada OTT, there is still no clarity on the format of the show.
Last year, season 9 had a mix of popular former contestants and newcomers, with the latter lot voted out soon enough, giving rise to complaints that the others had an unfair advantage. For instance, Arun Sagar was the runner-up of the first season, while Anupama Gowda, Divya Uruduga, Prashant Sambargi, among others, were very popular contestants during their earlier stints and were, therefore, familiar with how one needs to ‘work’ the house. There were also the four top contestants of the OTT season who came in with a fresh fan following. This time around, the hope is that the showrunners will bring in a host of new contestants from different walks of life. Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10 is expected to kick off by September 30 from a new house. Stay tuned for more details.
