Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9: Motor Racer Aishwarya Pissay eliminated from the show

The first week inside the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 has come to a fitting end. With a revised format in place, the ongoing season saw 18 contestants find their way into the house and to keep the tradition alive, the first elimination of the show took place recently on Sunday, October 2. As many as 11 contestants were nominated earlier this week but it was the popular motorcycle racer Aishwarya Pissay who got the axe at the end of it. 

The first round of eliminations in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 came after a testing period of six days inside the house. Aside from Rakesh Adiga, Deepika Das, Anupama Gowda, Neha Gowda, Roopesh Rajanna, and Amulya Gowda, the remaining 11 contestants (barring captain Vinod Gobaragala) founds themselves in the elimination zone with the audience choosing to evict Aishwarya Pissay from the house. 

Bengaluru-born Aishwarya Pissay holds the impressive feat of being the first-ever Indian motorsports athlete to win a world title and has achieved several other accolades as a circuit and off-road motorcycle racer. Having begun her career in 2016, Aishwarya has won the Outstanding Women in Motorsports Award on two consecutive occasions.

The Super Sunday Kiccha episode saw the elimination process unfold amid a lot of curiosity. With the show featuring lesser-known faces such as Nawaz, Darsh Chandrappa, Aishwarya Pissay etc., the first-week eliminations was an important threshold to cross for many and it all came down to choosing between Aishwarya and Darsh and it was the latter who ultimately made it to the second week of Season 9. 

Many contestants had previously stated that they found Aishwarya to be slightly reluctant and shy as a housemate which could be deemed as one of the stronger reasons for nomination. While a few of them did express their affection for her and that she possessed many admirable qualities, the others reckoned that they were unable to build a rapport within the stipulated amount of time. However, on a parting note, Aishwarya Pissay nominated Aryavardhan Guruji for the second week's elimination round.
