On Sunday’s episode of Bigg Boss Malayalam, the first ever elimination or ‘eviction’ process took place. As in previous seasons, this time too public votes were the basis for deciding which of the 17 contestants have to leave the Bigg Boss house.
Mohanlal returned as host, interacting with the contestants for the first time since the season premiere. Before moving onto the elimination process, Mohanlal discussed some of the notable happenings that took place in the house last week, and also talked in length with the contestants about the things they liked and disliked in the house.
Some of the main happenings that were highlighted were the feud between Jasmine M Moosa and Lakshmi Priya over the names they called each other, and the change in captaincy from Aswin Vijay to Naveen Arakkal.
Mohanlal also read out some of the opinions viewers had about the contestants, whom they did not name. The host read out the voters’ comments and asked the contestants themselves who they thought it was referring to. The host also told the contestants that viewers had admired how open and genuine they were on the show also.
As per votes, five contestants were in the ‘danger’ zone- Janaki Sudheer,Dr Robin Radhakrishnan,Dilsha Prasannan, Shalini Nair and Ronson Vincent. Janaki received the lowest votes among them and was thus evicted from the house.
During her interaction with Mohanlal after being eliminated, Janaki talked about how she would try and keep in touch with all the housemates, and that she would miss Dhanya Mary Varghese the most.
In the episode, Mohanlal also announced a new activity, BB News, where contestants would be asked to present 5 events that happened in the house in the form of a news broad cast. Akhil and Dhanya were selected as the first reporter and newsreader.
