Yet another weekend episode of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 (streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium) is here. Host Mohanlal, last seen in Hridayapoorvam, is also back after receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in Delhi. Weekend episodes are generally tense, given that the threat of eviction looms over contestants. But the upcoming episode of Bigg Boss Malayalam 7 seems to be in chill mode, with Mohanlal teaching Anumol on how to render his popular film dialogues, but as Karuthamma (played by veteran Malayalam actress Sheela) from Chemmeen would have said it.
The latest promo of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 teased a fun episode. The promo begins with Mohanlal telling contestants to render the dialogues as Karuthamma would have said them. Contestants Anumol and Aryan try their hand, which leads to amusing results. Next, Anumol attempts a dialogue from Mohanlal’s hit film Narasimham - ‘Idanja Kombanthe…’ Even as Anumol says the dialogue, Mohanlal interrupts to say she just needs to lift herself up and fall to get the intonation right.
This is followed by a dialogue from yet another iconic Mohanlal film - Manichitrathazhu. “Harikkumpazhum gunikkumpazhum utharam shariyaann enu thonniyal onnude harichum gunichum nokkunnath sharyalleee,” Mohanlal’s Sunny character tells Sreedevi (Vinaya Prasad) in the 1993 film. In Bigg Boss Malayalam 7, Anumol delivers it in Karuthamma style. The Thudarum actor too mouths his famous dialogue, including with the nasal twang, much to the amusement of the audience.
Chemmeen is a classic Malayalam film, starring Sheela as Karuthamma, probably one of her most popular roles in an illustrious filmography. The character’s long, drawn-out sigh and dramatic dialogues (common during that era) later became fodder for comedy shows. Madhu plays the lead role in the acclaimed film, which is streaming on Prime Video. OTTplay Premium subscribers can also watch the film by topping up their plan to include Prime Video.
Manichitrathazhu, which also stars Shobana, is also streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium.
