Akbar called Renu Sudhi 'septic tank', a remark that obviously invited an emotional amd strong response from the woman contestant who said that Akbar has insulted womanhood with his comments. On the third day of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7, the contestants were given a task to give 'Omana peru' (pet names) to the other housemates. The contestants had to pick the ones they liked, and did not like and give them a name. Though all contestants have names to one another, Akbar chose to call Renu Sudhi 'septic tank'.

Deeply hurt by this, Renu told Noora that this is the first time that she was being called thus. "No one should be called like that. I am a woman, a widow. Akbar's comments are an insult to womanhood. Do you know those who do not have a partner have to face so much backlash. I stand here as a voice for them," she remarked. For the unversed, Renu Sudhi is the wife of Kollam Sudhi, who passed away in 2023. She has been facing much trolls online.

Amid this, Akbar came forward to say that he was ready to apologise if Renu was hurt. "I meant that her content was waste. Did not feel they were relevant. That's why I called her like that. I didn't know she was representing widows. I am ready to apologise if (Renu) chechi was hurt," he said, looking at the camera.
