Bigg Boss OTT 2: Ranveer Singh to replace Karan Johar as host of its sophomore season?

After the massively popular first season of Bigg Boss OTT 1 that was hosted by Karan Johar, the makers are reportedly looking for a new celebrity to take over the hosting duties for its sophomore edition. While Salman Khan, who has been hosting Bigg Boss, was largely rumoured to be roped in, a source from the production team has now revealed that Ranveer Singh is a frontrunner.

While there has been no official announcement regarding the new host, a source was reported by IANS as saying that the makers have already begun planning the second season of the show. Karan was initially approached to return as the host but the filmmaker didn’t allot dates as he would be busy with the shoot and post-production of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which incidentally also stars Ranveer, and also has to start work on Action Film that will go on floors early next year.

This has reportedly prompted the team to enter into discussions with Ranveer, who is apparently been finalised for the show, according to the source. The Jayeshbhai Jordaar actor had last year hosted the game show The Big Picture, which was aired on Colors TV.

The next season, which is expected to begin by end of this year or next, will be available to stream on Voot Select 24x7. It will also follow the same format as the premier edition with five contestants vying against each other to become the winner. The first season had Divya Agarwal emerging as the winner.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar will be returning with the seventh season of his show Koffee With Karan on this week. The show, which will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar, will also have Ranveer as a guest in an episode along with Alia. This season will also have Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Samantha, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff and Sara Ali Khan as guests.
