Musician and Bigg Boss OTT contestant Millind Gaba was in Kolkata on June 3 to kickstart his India tour. The musician participated in the first season of Bigg Boss OTT, which was hosted by Karan Johar and was streamed on Voot last year. While Millind was evicted from the house, Divya Agarwal emerged as the champion of the season.
Speaking at a press conference, the singer remembered the singer Krishna Kunnath, popularly known as KK, who passed away a few days ago due to a heart attack after his concert in the city. While Jubin Nautiyal cancelled his show after the alleged mismanagement at KK’s show at Nazrul Mancha, Millind told the press that he would love to perform in Kolkata though he respects Jubin’s decision. In his first-ever India tour, the musician will perform in Mumbai, Kolkata, Goa, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other cities.
Remembering the late singer KK, the musician said, “It is an unfortunate event. I grew up listening to his songs. I learned to perform by watching his performances. I used to follow his voice texture. He is one of the reasons for me to be a singer. He left us so early.”
On the night of KK’s final performance, the venue was overcrowded and a series of allegations against the organisers have been raised. Following the allegations, Sunidhi Chauhan and Jubin Nautiyal called off their shows that were organised by the same student union from another college. Commenting on this, Millind said, “Jubinbhai must have his reason. My motto in life is that the show must go on. The man who left us left us. He (KK) is with God and God must keep him happy.”
Millind is known for songs like Nachi Nachi from the film Street Dancer 3D and singles like Nazar Lag Jayegi, She Don't Know and Main Teri Ho Gayi. Talking about his tour, Millind said, “It will be my first integrated and exclusive India tour and I am very grateful to have this opportunity to perform live for my audiences across different cities.”
The singer has some crazy fan following. Millind further shared his experience with his female admirers. “Sometimes, some of my female fans break into tears. That becomes crazy because I don’t want to make people cry. I understand that this is ‘khushi ke ansu’. I am blessed that I get so much love,” he said.
