Bigg Boss OTT surprise! Shamita Shetty is the first female contestant of Karan Johar's show

Bigg Boss OTT dropped a huge surprise by announcing their first female contestant. It's none other than Shamita Shetty! The actor is returning to the reality show after a decade. She participated in Bigg Boss season 3 which was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. While entering on Bigg Boss OTT, Shamita performed on her popular song Sharara from Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai.

The actor also spoke about her scepticism before entering the reality show due to the ongoing Raj Kundra case who is her brother-in-law. Shamita said she had committed to the reality show thus didn't back out from Bigg Boss OTT.

Shamita is not new to the world of OTT as she had made her debut with the Voot show Yo Ke Hua Bro. She was then seen in the ZEE5 series Black Widows. 

Meanwhile, Shetty was a runner-up on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 and the finalist on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9.

Earlier, Shamita had quit Bigg Boss 3 because of Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj's wedding which was held in 2009.

In 2018, during an interaction with IANS, Shamita revealed what went against her during her stint on Bigg Boss 3. The actor said, "There are several incidents where I challenged myself... going into the Bigg Boss house was a challenge that went completely against my personality."

Meanwhile, Shetty made her acting back in 2000 with the film Mohabbatein directed by Aditya Chopra. She was paired opposite Uday Chopra in the film co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Her other films include Zeher, Bewafaa, Cash, etc.

We have to wait and watch how Shamita performs in the show and leaves an impressive mark on the fans.
