Bigg Boss Tamil 6: HERE's all you need to know about the season's first contestant and fan favourite GP Muthu

Ever since the last two seasons of the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil were announced, fans have been speculating that social media influencer GP Muthu would wend his way to the popular show. It looks like their wish finally came true this time around as the YouTuber and TikTok sensation made it to the sixth edition of the show. In fact, he was the very first contestant to make his entry into the newly furnished Bigg Boss House. In his promo video, Muthu said, "See, you asked me almost every day why I am not part of Bigg Boss and here I am."

GP Muthu aka Ganesan Pechimuthu, hails from Udangudi in Tamil Nadu. He is a goldsmith by profession. During his free time, we would post videos on TikTok. When the app was at its peak, GP Muthu was one of the most popular names on social media. A self-confessed addict of TikTok, GP Muthu said that he would post 75-80 videos in a day and that he loved the attention. He shot to fame for his sense of humour, his unique Tamil accent, his body language and his naivety. With soaring popularity, his fan following hit a million users and the viewers for his videos, too, began to increase simultaneously.

But when the Union government banned the app, the social media sensation was in a state of shock. He had stated that TikTok was the only source of entertainment for him. His fans, too, were quite upset as Muthu provided them with a solid dose of entertainment.

Adding to his woes was the pandemic-induced lockdown, after which he went into depression as Muthu couldn't fend for his family and even tried to commit suidice. When he recovered and reached home after his treatment, he received a letter. He said that the letter didn't say much, so he was miffed a little and recorded a video reprimanding the sender. The video became a hit and soon it prompted him to launch his own YouTube channel. He soon began earning money through his channel and his life started looking better. On the personal front, Muthu is a doting husband and father of four children. He is also taking care of his late younger brother's children as his own.
