Bigg Boss Tamil 6 Written Update October 23: Shanthi is the first contestant to be evicted from the house

​As the show's host Kamal Haasan appears on the screen on Deepavali eve, he looks dapper in a black shirt and black veshti. He tells the contestant that they look good and that they exude festive vibes in their colourful ethnic attires. Kamal Haasan then reprimands the contestants for not wearing their mike and muffling their microphones, especially Kathiravan and Queency.

Later, Myna is asked to assign an animal's name to each contestant. She doles out the tortoise tag to Janany, snake to Dhanalakshmi, owl to Azeem, crocodile to Ram, frog to Asal, fox to Maheshwari, monkey to Amudhavanan, chameleon to Manikandan and parrot to Robert. ADK, Dhanalakshmi and Azeem disagree with her decision and hand over their tags to others.

Ram and Janany lament to Kamal Haasan that they don't know why they were sent to jail. Both tell him that they were not happy with the decision and that they were made scapegoats in the game. Ram and Janany tell him they both would have preferred Azeem and Aysha to go to jail. Kamal Haasan asks the other contestants why they picked Ram and Janany for prison. Myna tells him that it was the repercussions of the fight between Azeem and Aysha and adds that Azeem influenced their decision. Kamal Haasan once again reprimands contestants for not playing a fair game.

Dhanalakshmi then talks about her fight with Asal. He then lambasts Asal for talking to Dhanalakshmi in a demeaning manner and advises him not to put down others. Kamal Haasan says rap represents rebellion and has a political message. He tells him that as a rapper, Asal needs to be socially responsible. He also advises him to not body shame and age- shame others and always think about the victims while doing so. He also reprimands people to not shush those on the receiving end of a fight and stand up for one another.

Kamal Haasan asks contestants to pick housemates who have gone astray from their paths while entering the game. Majority of the contestants pick Dhanalakshmi, Asal and Nivashini. On a parting note, Kamal Haasan announces that Shanthi is evicted, thus making her the first contestant to leave the house this season.​ Shanthi says that she is fine and that she is happy to go home.
