Bigg Boss Tamil season 7 contestant Vichithra has sparked a fresh controversy with her remarks on women's safety. She has been a staunch critic of her fellow housemates Maya, Poornima and Jovika, for leading the protest that led to the eviction of Pradeep Antony.

In a heated argument defending her anger, Vichithra strongly criticised the girls for not speaking up sooner. She argued that reporting rape cases even a week later is futile as "evidence would have vanished by then, and the wounds have healed."

Despite protests from Raveena Daha, Vichithra stood by her stance, suggesting that the claims of sexual violence victims lose credibility if not reported promptly.

Vichithra has found a strong ally in VJ Archana, who seconded her belief. s. "I'm not defending Pradeep, but they should have questioned him on the very first day," argued Archana.

The eviction of Pradeep has received a polarising response from the viewers. It has also divided the Bigg Boss house, with Vichithra and Archana mounting a strong verbal attack against Maya, Poornima and Jovika for their delayed action against Pradeep.

Many netizens have expressed their disapproval of Vichithra's recent comments, criticising her lack of understanding regarding the nature and stigma surrounding issues that threaten women's safety.

"What’s wrong in coming home and telling me this is what happened and at that point I couldn’t react?? Doesn’t mean it wasn’t wrong! This is just victim blaming at the highest order, don’t preach stupid stuff!,"rued viewers on social media.

#MeToo activist and popular singer Chinmayi Sripaada also reacted to the arguments of Vichithra and Archana. She expressed her frustration, saying, "Sick and tired Honestly sick and tired of these - “appove sollu you have the power,” tweeted Chinmayi.

She suggested that the survivors of sexual harassment rarely get justice, regardless of when they report the crimes.
