The shoot for Ajith's Thunivu is in full swing in Bangkok. The latest update from the set is that Bigg Boss Tamil contestants Amir, Pavani, Ciby caught with Ajith on the set. They took selfies with the actor and the pictures are now doing the rounds on the internet. Ciby captioned his selfie with Ajith as, " #HappyDays #Bangkok #thunivu (sic)". Sharing the picture on his social media handle, Amir, wrote, "How do I tell, what do I tell, who will believe. Ayyyyooooooo I feel like sharing everything what is happening here.. what a wonderful man #AK61 #ajithsir #thunive #movie #thala (sic)."

The film, which is billed as a heist thriller, is directed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. The fiery first and second-look posters had set the internet on fire and it went viral the moment it was released on social media. The poster had the tagline- No guts, No glory.

Manju Warrier, who was last seen in Tamil in Vetri Maaran's Asuran, will be playing the leading lady. Thunivu is her second film in Tamil. She had recently shared a picture with Ajith from her bike trip to Ladakh where she had joined the actor. The film has an ensemble star cast including Samuthirakani, John Kokken and Veera.

There are rumours that the film is based on a real-life bank robbery which took place in Punjab in the '80s. The heist thriller is said to have some heavy-duty action scenes including bike stunts that will be canned in the Araku valley. The shoot for the film is likely to be wrapped by Diwali. The digital rights of the film is said to have been acquired by Netflix.

Music for the film is by Ghibran. Nirav Shah and Vijay Velukutty are in charge of cinematography and editing respectively. Supreme Sundar is choreographing the stunts. In the meantime, the buzz is that the film will hit screens for Pongal 2023, and that it will clash with Vijay's Varisu. If that happens, Pongal releases will be a dhamaka of sorts at the box office.
