Bigg Boss Ultimate host Silambarasan likely to headline Lingusamy's next

We had told you Lingusamy was directing Ram Pothineni in The Warriorr. This Telugu-Tamil bilingual features Krithi Shetty and Akshara Gowda as the female leads and Aadhi Pinisetty (who recently got married to Nikki Galrani) plays the antagonist. The buzz is that Lingusamy is likely to direct a film with Silambarasan in the lead. According to sources, the director narrated the story to the actor, who was impressed by it. But for now, we don't know when this project will go on floors, as Silambarasan has a couple of other films in his kitty.

Post-Anjaan, Lingusamy started focusing on Telugu cinema and is awaiting the release of The Warriorr, on July 14. Notably, the film also has a number, sung by Silambarasan. Titled Bullet, the power-packed track has been composed by Devi Sri Prasad. This song is expected to be one of the many highlights of The Warriorr. A source tells OTTplay, “Ram Pothineni grew up in Chennai. He has dubbed his lines in Tamil, as he's fluent in the language. Lingusamy was satisfied with the way the film has come out thus far.”

The idea behind Ram dubbing in Tamil is to get closer to the native audience, the source added.

An action entertainer set in Kurnool, the film marks the debut of Ram Pothineni, in Tamil. He will be seen in the role of a cop. Shot extensively in Hyderabad and Chennai, The Warriorr is produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under his Srinivasaa Silver Screens banner. While Anbariv of Vikram-fame will serve as the action choreographers, the film is edited by Naveen Nooli, who won the national award for Jersey.

Up next, Ram Pothineni has teamed up with director Boyapati Sreenu for a pan-Indian project.

On the other hand, Silambarasan will resume the shoot of Pathu Thala, soon. The actor essays a gangster named AGR in the film, directed by Obeli N Krishna, which is an official remake of the 2017 Kannada film, Mufti.

Pathu Thala, bankrolled by KE Gnanavelraja and Jayantilal Gada, also features Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gautham Karthik, Gautham Menon, Kalaiyarasan, and Teejay Arunasalam, in important roles.

In addition, Silambarasan has a film with Gokul of Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame, titled Corona Kumar, besides Gautham Menon's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu.

Silambarasan's last theatrical release was Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu.
