The critics, audiences and the fraternity were left spellbound when the trailer of Bimbisara, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s prestigious film, was launched recently. The sheer ambition, scale and the conviction of a first-time filmmaker Vassishta was visible in every frame of the trailer. Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon play the female leads in the ambitious socio-fantasy.

The first single from the film, Eeswarude, sung by Kaala Bhairava and written by Shree Mani was launched today. Gauthamiputra Sathakarni fame composer Chirrantan Bhatt has scored the music. The song deals with a king Bimbisara going through a challenging phase in his life, who calls this a game by the almighty himself (referred to as Eeswarudu)

The song refers to a situation where the protagonist’s ego is kept under check and says that he no longer can consider himself a God. The king may have tasted many highs in his life but none can escape their destiny, it suggests. A listener is likely to appreciate the song more within the context of the film than as a standalone number. The dense voice of Kaala Bhairava is put to use perfectly in Eeswarude.

Chirrantan Bhatt, having composed for Gauthamiputra Sathakarni, is no stranger to intense situations in historicals and has done a commendable job for the first single. It’s evident that the director, lyricist, composer and the singer were in complete sync with one another to pull off this song. After an impressive trailer, the team couldn’t have asked for a better follow-up than this single.

Warina Hussain, Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Srinivasa Reddy too play important roles in the film. Cinematographed by Chota K Naidu, the background score is handled by M. M. Keeravaani. Tammiraju is the editor and Kiran Kumar Manne is the art director. Apart from Shreemani, the lyricists for the album include Ramajogaiah Sastri and Varikuppala Yadagiri.
