Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is all set to bring to audiences his fiercest avatar yet, with the upcoming film Bimbisara. The teaser for the upcoming film was unveiled today.
The one minute long teaser opens with a shot of an impressive looking kingdom, and Kalyan Ram’s character is seen making a regal entry into a court. The teaser makes several allusions to the ferocity and power of the character with its imagery; such as shots of him in battle, his lion crested armour spattered with blood, and a particularly massy shot of him as he steps on a live crocodile.
The voice over narrates to viewers the story of an authoritative rule, where people cowered in their terror before a king who had no qualms in spilling the blood of his people. In a surprise shot at the end, viewers are taken back to present times. Kalyan Ram ditches the armour and sword for more modern attire; and instead of a blade he uses his fisticuffs to make people bend to his will.
Although details regarding the upcoming film are being kept under wraps, the title suggests that it will include a period saga based on the Magadha king Bimbisāra. The king's exploits and expansion of his kingdom would later play a huge role in the expansion of the Mauryan Empire.
Bimbisara is written and directed by Mallidi Vashist. In addition to Kalyan Ram, the film also features Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon, and Warina Hussain.
The upcoming film is produced by K Hari Krishna under the banner of NTR Arts.
