Director Ram Kamal Mukherjee was evidently anxious as the shooting of his ambitious project Binodini: Ek Natir Upakhyan stopped abruptly, one month after it started. Ram Kamal explained on his social media that a large number of members of the directorial team, including Binodini Rukmini, caught a viral fever. He also wished for their speedy recovery.

Ram Kamal posted a picture with Rukmini Maitra and wrote, “Team Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan, get well soon! You guys are fighters and will make it happen. It's unfortunate that major cast and crew members got a viral attack at the shoot. Rukmini Maitra along with my entire directorial team, my art department, costume department, and hair-makeup team are suffering from a viral attack and high fever. They are under medical treatment and precautions to regain themselves back to work. Praying for their speedy recovery. Please pray for my team and their recovery.” In the end, he wrote, “Hari Guru, Guru Hari.”

Rukmini also told about her fever of 102.2 on Instagram Story. She wrote 'Down and dead.'

Previously, Rukmini told Hindustan Times Bangla how she had to prepare. She constantly lived within Binodini's character, she said. She prepared from 9 to 11 am. She also had an acting workshop under Sudipta Chakraborty, along with a dance rehearsal. She said, “I feel proud as a woman as I get acquainted with Binodini.”

Ram Kamal earlier said, “It is very difficult to reconstruct Binodini's time. Since Binodini's original picture is not archived, it was difficult to find her saree fabric and jewelry designs. My team worked for three weeks to find them.”
