Actor Dhruv Vikram has had a fabulous outing this year with his sports drama Bison Kaalamaadan. The film not only won at the box office, but also fetched praises to the young actor for his dedication and performance as a young and aspiring kabaddi player who has to fight the oppression in society. On the sidelines of speaking about Bison, Dhruv Vikram also talked about the last film he watched in theatres, and it happened to be the recently released Malayalam flick Kalamkaval starring Mammootty and Vinayakan in the lead roles.

Dhruv Vikram’s latest watch was the Malayalam serial killer film Kalamkaval. The film, which is winning praises for Mammootty for playing the bad guy. Speaking about the film, Dhruv Vikram in the latest actors’ roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter India, said, "I recently watched Kalamkaval of Mammootty sir. He carries the entire film on his shoulders. It is interesting to see how a superstar of that stature is willing to explore these kinds of characters that a lot are not willing to do, when you are that established. It is interesting to watch him make decisions like that, follow through it and do it so well."
Basil Joseph, who was also on the panel, also revealed how Mammootty was initially offered the protagonist's character, but he voluntarily offered to play the negative role. "You cannot expect a superstar to do that. He is just bad, and not someone who changes for good.”
