Bison, the sports drama film marks director Mari Selvaraj’s first collaboration with young actor Dhruv Vikram. The project is now nearing the final leg of its shooting.

Mari Selvaraj, one of the most sought-after talents in the film industry, is currently busy shooting his next outing Bison. The project, which is touted to be a period sports drama, features young actor Dhruv Vikram in the lead role. Even though the movie was expected to be released in 2024, it is now confirmed to get a 2025 release. Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Mari Selvaraj dropped major updates on Bison.
In his recent interview with a leading Tamil online media, Mari Selvaraj opened up about Bison. According to the talented filmmaker, around 75 percent filming of the Dhruv Vikram starrer has been finished so far. The director, who looked super confident about his upcoming sports drama film, further added that it has come out very well. The pending 25 percent of the portions will be filmed mostly by the end of 2024, or the beginning of 2025.
Mari Selvaraj refrained from revealing much about the genre and theme of the Dhruv Vikram starrer, in the interview. However, the popular filmmaker confirmed the reports and revealed that the team is indeed planning a summer 2025 release for Bison. However, the release date and other details will be finalized only after the cast and crew wrap up the entire filming of the much-awaited project.
As reported earlier, the Mari Selvaraj directorial stars Dhruv Vikram in the role of a sportsman, from a rural Tamil Nadu village. Rajisha Vijayan and Anupama Parameshwaran are playing the female leads in the film. Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Azhagam Perumal, Hari Krishnan, and others in supporting roles. Nivas K Prasanna is composing the songs and original score. Ezhil Arasu K is the director of photography. Sakthi Thiru handles the editing. Bison is bankrolled by Pa Ranjith’s home banner Neelam Productions, in association with Applause Entertainment.
