Charlie Brooker’s hit Netflix series Black Mirror has returned with five new engrossing stories as it forays into the horror genre. The latest season features a stacked ensemble including legendary Hollywood veterans, award-winning TV actors, and acclaimed indie stars. So for today’s List hai toh hit hai we take a look at the actors of season six and in which film or TV series you may have seen them before.

  1. Annie Murphy

The first episode revolves around a woman named Joan whose life is captured in real time for a television series without her knowledge by a streaming platform. The character is played by Emmy Award-winning Schitt’s Creek star, who plays Alexis Rose in the acclaimed comedy series.

2. Salma Hayek

The next name on this list needs no introduction. Hollywood star Salma Hayek essays a fictionalised version of herself, who plays the role of Joan in the eerie fictional television series Joan is Awful in the first episode. The Academy Award-nominated star has appeared in popular films such as Frieda, Desperado, Puss in Boots, and From Dusk Till Dawn. The character Joan is also played by two-time Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett in the fictional TV series in Salma Hayek’s Joan’s reality.

3. Rob Delaney

Actor Rob Delaney essays the role of Joan’s ex-boyfriend Mac. The stand-up comedian is a popular character actor who has appeared in films such as Deadpool 2 and is set to appear in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One.

4. Ben Barnes

The TV version of Mac is played by English actor Ben Barnes, who shot to fame for his turn as Prince Caspian in the 2008 film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The actor has since played pivotal roles in TV shows such as Shadow and Bone, The Punisher, and Westworld.

5. Michael Cera

The next on this list is popular Hollywood star, Michael Cera. He made his breakthrough in the industry in the cult classic comedy, Superbad. He has since appeared in universally acclaimed films such as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Juno, as well as the comedy series Arrested Development.

6. Avi Nash

The American television actor Avi Nash rose to prominence in the hit AMC series The Walking Dead for playing the role of Siddiq between 2010-2022. He essays the role of Krish, Joan’s fiancé in Annie Murphy’s Joan’s reality.

7. Himesh Patel

Krish is played by Himesh Patel in Salma Hayek’s Joan’s reality. The British actor is best known for appearing in the Christopher Nolan films Inception and Tenet, the TV series The Luminaries alongside Eva Green and Eve Hewson, and the fantasy comedy film Yesterday.

8. Samuel Blenkin

The second episode, Loch Henry, stars Samuel Blenkin and Myha'la Herrold in lead roles. The young English actor Blenkin plays the role of Davis and has played minor roles in Peaky Blinders, The Sandman, and the 2021 Wes Anderson film The French Dispatch.

9. Myha'la Herrold

American actress Myha'la Herrold essays the role of Pia, Davis’ girlfriend and fellow documentary filmmaker. The actress is best known for her roles as Tami in Modern Love and as Jordan in the slasher comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies.

10. Daniel Portman

The next actor on this list will surely excite Game of Thrones fans. Scottish actor Daniel Portman plays the role of the local pub owner Stuart King – a loud and jovial friend of Davis. Portman is nearly unrecognizable as Stuart with his thick Scottish accent and beard, who once essayed the role of fan-favourite character Podrick Payne in Game of Thrones.

11. John Hannah

Veteran Scottish actor John Hannah plays the role of Stuart’s father in the second episode of the sixth season. He rose to prominence in the ‘90s after playing a pivotal role in Four Weddings and a Funeral and for his turn as Jonathan in the action-adventure film The Mummy. He has since played starring roles in TV shows such as Spartacus and recently appeared in The Last of Us TV series in a brief but memorable role as Dr. Neuman in the pilot episode.

12. Monica Dolan

BAFTA-winning English actress Monica Dolan is best known for her role as Marion Thorpe in A Very English Scandal. She has appeared in Agatha Christie's Poirot, Cyrano, and in a minor role in Kick-Ass 2. Her most critically acclaimed role is her depiction of Rose West in the British crime drama Appropriate Adult.

13. Aaron Paul

The third episode, Beyond the Sea, features a star-studded ensemble of Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, and Auden Thornton. Aaron Paul became one of the most popular TV stars of all time after playing the iconic role of Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad. Paul plays the role of an astronaut named Cliff in an alternate reality of 1969.

14. Josh Hartnett

Josh Hartnett nearly had the world at his feet in the early 2000s and was expected to become a bankable star after playing lead roles in the cult classic horror film The Faculty and Ridley Scott’s blockbuster Black Hawk Down. However, the American actor disappeared from the limelight for a few years and later revived his career through the hit horror series Penny Dreadful. Hartnett stars alongside Aaron Paul in the lead as David in the third episode of season six titled Beyond the Sea.

15. Kate Mara

American actress Kate Mara plays the role of Lana, who is the wife of Aaron Paul’s character Cliff. Mara has appeared in several big-budget Hollywood productions such as Iron Man 2, Shooter, The Martian, and the underwhelming 2015 Fantastic Four as Sue Storm.

16. Rory Culkin

Rory Culkin plays the role of a deranged cult leader in the episode Beyond the Sea. The actor is best known for his roles in M Night Shyamalan’s Signs and the slasher film Scream 4. He is also the brother of Succession star Kieran Culkin and the iconic Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin.

17. Zazie Beetz

The fourth episode titled Mazey Day stars Zazie Beetz in the lead. The American actress rose to prominence in recent years for starring in big-budget films such as Deadpool 2, Joker, and Bullet Train.

18. Danny Ramirez

Danny Ramirez plays the role of a paparazzi photographer in the fourth episode. The actor garnered acclaim for his role as Joaquin Torres/ Falcon in the Disney+ Marvel series Falcon and the Winter Soldier and also recently appeared in the blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick.

19. Anjana Vasan

The final episode of the sixth season is titled Demon 79 and stars Anjana Vasan in the lead as a soft-spoken sales executive. She is best known for her award-winning role in the hit British sitcom We Are Lady Parts, and she has also appeared in Killing Eve and in a minor role in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

20. Paapa Essiedu

British actor Paapa Essiedu delivers a compelling performance as a demon from another realm. The British actor has starred in TV shows including I May Destroy You, The Lazarus Project, Men, Gangs of London, and Anne Boleyn.
