Black Widow has finally got a release date in India. No, it's not going to be a theatrical release as Disney+ Hotstar had announced that the film will be streaming on the platform soon. The Marvel movie starring Scarlett Johansson in the titular role was released in the US and the rest of the world between June and July this year. However, in India, Black Widow will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from September 3, 2021. 

The official Instagram page of Disney+ Hotstar VIP gave the happy news on Sunday with a caption stating, "Aaaaaaa... we are totally screaming after meeting the characters of Marvel Studios' Black Widow. Brb, we are still screaming... Marvel Studios' Black Widow starts streaming on September 3 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada."

Meanwhile, a short trailer with a description that read as 'Black Widow is done running from her past, and from you', was released too.

Black Widow features Scarlett as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and the film is helmed by Cate Shortland. The screenplay is by Eric Pearson and Kevin Feige of Marvel is the producer.

The first standalone movie of Black Widow also features Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, Olga Kurylenko, William Hurt, Ray Winstone and Rachel Weisz in supporting roles.

Talking about the synopsis, the makers described it as "Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger."

Meanwhile, Scarlett even filed a lawsuit against Disney for simultaneously releasing Black Widow on the streaming platform.
