For those who have lived through the ninety's era, will surely remember actress Sheeba Akashdeep as someone who is extremely happy-go-lucky and free-spirited. She made her Bollywood debut with the ‘societal mirror’ type of film. The film was titled ‘Yeh Aag Kab Bhujegi’. Besides Sheeba Akashdeep, the film also starred an array of legendary actors like Sunil Dutt, Kabir Bedi, Pradeep Kumar, Satyen Kappu Dina Pathak, Shakti Kapoor, Bindu, Roopesh Kumar, Ranjeet, Mukri, Iftekhar, Sudhir, Bharat Kapoor, Chandrashekhar, Moon Moon Sen and the ageless diva Rekha, who played the role of Professor Radha.

Speaking exclusively to OTTplay, Sheeba Akashdeep walked down memory lane and recalled the days of her debut film. Sheeba said, “The film (‘Yeh Aag Kab Bhujegi’) highlighted the story of a father taking revenge for his daughter being burnt alive by her in-laws for dowry. My first film was made on a very socially relevant topic that is on dowry death. In that film I was burnt for dowry. It was a very intense and beautiful film. My memories with that film are fantastic. One of the first things is that Dimple [Kapadia] ji was a part of the project. However, due to some date issues [Sunil] Dutt Sahab (director of the film) got Rekha ji in her place. I was delighted to work with her, someone I grew up idolising and had posters of her in my whole room. Meeting your idol always feels surreal,” smiles the 90’s popular film actor”.

Whilst on the topic of the diva Rekha, Sheeba said, “She was one of the nicest, kindest and sweetest co-stars ever. She was so caring and protective about me. I used to sit in her make-up room and just adore her. Also when one of my dogs passed away she was one of the first ones to reach my home because she herself is a very big dog lover. She’s still a stunning, fantastic and eternal diva and there’s nobody like her. Whenever you meet her no matter how many years later, she’s still eternally very beautiful and smells of mogra. She was, she is and she will continue to remain an icon forever”.

And when we asked Sheeba if she would want to work with Rekha again, pat came the reply, “Yes, of course, I would like to work with her once again. I absolutely adore her so much”.
