Ayyappanum Koshiyum, the Malayalam hit film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon in the lead roles, is getting a massy makeover in its Telugu remake Bheemla Nayak. Bheemla Nayak, directed by Saagar K Chandra has hit the right notes with its casting, roping in leading stars Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati to reprise the pivotal roles from the original. While Pawan Kalyan is playing the title character and a song based on his role had released and topped music charts recently, a sneak peek of Rana Daggubati's role in the film titled 'Blitz of Daniel Shekar' was released on YouTube on Monday.

Rana Daggubati is in his element in the brief glimpse of his character Daniel Shekar, appearing in a full-on massy avatar, sporting black shades, donning a lungi and delivering power-packed punchlines effortlessly. The actor's body language in the film partially reminds you of his Jogendra-act in Nene Raju Nene Manthri, but he particularly aces the line where he refers to Nithya Menen's on-screen husband (Pawan Kalyan) as Gabbar Singh, a villain and refers to himself as Dharmendra, a hero.

The 'blitz' is enjoyable and it's not surprising that it's trending in the top position on YouTube, having clocked nearly 5 million views in a single day. The suspense surrounding the leading lady opposite Rana Daggubati is expected to end shortly. The film is produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments, has music by S Thaman and cinematography by Ravi K Chandran. Navin Nooli is on board as the editor. Amazon Prime Video has bagged the digital streaming rights of Bheemla Nayak.

Bheemla Nayak will release worldwide on January 12, 2022, for the Sankranti season, during which it will lock horns with two other big releases like Mahesh Babu's Sarkaaru Vaari Paata and Prabhas, Pooja Hegde starrer Radhe Shyam.
