Blonde teaser: Ana de Armas’ film gives a glimpse into the troubled life of Marilyn Monroe; release date out

Blonde promises to offer viewers a glimpse into the life of one of the most popular actresses in American history- Marilyn Monroe. The film will see Ana de Armas essay the role of the iconic actress. The makers unveiled the teaser and release date of the Netflix film recently.

The short black and white teaser features some distressing moments in the actress’ troubled life, who was known to have struggled with her mental health. The teaser shows Monroe in the midst of some vulnerable moments, as she ‘waits’ for someone’s arrival. She is also seen putting on a brave face for the public, although her efforts to maintain her composure sometimes come undone. The song Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend, which Monroe performed in the 1953 film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, also features in the teaser.

The teaser also unveiled the film’s release date. Blonde is scheduled for release on Netflix on September 23, 2022.

As per Netflix the film “boldly reimagines the complicated life of icon Marilyn Monroe. Blurring the lines of fact and fiction, the film artfully explores the tension between her public and private life”.

The film also features Adrien Brody and Bobby Cannavale who essay the roles of Monroe’s late husbands. Blonde is based on the historical fiction book of the same name written by Joyce Carol Oates. The upcoming film is directed by Andrew Dominik, popular for his work on films such as Chopper and Killing Them Softly. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tracey Landon and Scott Robertson have produced the film, which has Christina Oh as its executive producer.
