Blonde Twitter Review: Netizens say they love Ana De Armas, hate the film

Blonde, the Netflix biography of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe, saw Ana De Armas essay the role of the iconic actress. The highly awaited film hit Netflix recently, finally putting an end to the long wait of fans. After watching the film, a number of viewers flocked to Twitter to give their two cents about the film.

Audiences complimented Armas for delving deeply into the psyche of the disturbed protagonist in Andrew Dominik's movie, which had its world debut at the Venice International Film Festival earlier this year. In addition to some positive reviews, the movie also attracted scathing criticism from internet users and was the topic of conversation for a long time. Although viewers liked the actress' portrayal of Marilyn, the audience did not enjoy the writing or the manner in which the renowned women's tale was presented.

Blonde courageously retells the story of Marilyn Monroe, aka Norma Jeane, who was one of Hollywood's most enduring icons. The movie explores the developing divide between Norma Jeane's public and private personalities, starting with her troubled childhood as Norma Jeane and extending throughout her rise to popularity as well as sexual encounters, achieved by blurring the borders among reality and fiction. In the Andrew Dominik-written film, Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, and Xavier Samuel are among the cast members.

Significantly, the movie garnered a 14-minute standing ovation at its international debut at the Venice Film Festival. Even the principal actress Ana de Armas became moved by the response and thanked the crowd.

The movie, which is based on the Joyce Carol Oates novel Blonde, is primarily shot in black and white while switching between aspect ratios.

However, Ana earlier stated in this film that they spent hours working on this project each day for almost a year. In addition to reading Joyce's book, she examined a plethora of photographs, videos, audio recordings, films, and everything else she could get her hands on. The actress said, every situation is influenced by a prior attempt. Every component of the image would be examined, and everything that was happening there would be discussed.
