Blurr actor Taapsee Pannu on being typecast: Genre doesn't matter, the script does

Taapsee Pannu has lately been seen experimenting variety of roles in thriller genres with films like Dobaaraa and Blurr. The ace actor has also debuted as a producer with the latter. The Ajay Bahl directorial has received mixed reviews from critics and the audience. 

Meanwhile, Taapsee has received a little criticism for taking similar kinds of roles in her recent films. Talking about the same, the diva shared her thoughts and said that she always goes for the scripts she finds appealing. 

Talking to Hindustan Times, Taapsee shared, "I think my personal ego is way insignificant in front of a good script. I can’t keep satisfying my personal ego of being called the ‘best’ actor in the industry, or the ‘highest paid’ actor in the industry, or the ‘most variety-offering’ actor in the industry. All this is too secondary. If I get a good script, I want to do it. It doesn’t matter what genre it is.”

The actor further added that she always wants to be linked with good work, while slotting doesn't matter to her. Taapsee also mentioned that if the public or filmmakers have a strong value of her as a performer doing a certain type of role, she feels it is still positive for her.

Taapsee recently shared a few BTS images from the sets of her latest crime-thriller movie with a quirky caption on Instagram that reads, "Pic1: me always taking up intense dark plots in films. Pic2: me compensating for the darkness in my films! Main apni light leke aayi hu :) #BlurrMoments (Sic)."

Blurr, which also stars Gulshan Devaiah in a pivotal role along with Desai Khan, Abhilash Thapliyal, Sorabh Chauhan, Nitya Mathur and Sumit Nijhawan as supporting characters, is available to stream on ZEE5.
