Bob Marley: One Love emerges victorious in box office clash with Madame Web

The title of the movie 'One Love' is inspired by one of Bob Marley's most popular songs of the same name. It was a part of the 1965 album The Wailing Wailers by Marley’s group, The Wailers.

Reinaldo Marcus Green’s Bob Marley: One Love clashed in theatres with Sony Production's Madame Web. Interestingly, the latter bombed at the box office with disappointing Twitter and critic reviews. Bob Marley: One Love, the clear winner, made $17.9 million on Thursday, as per the Hollywood Reporter.

Ever since Paramount Pictures dropped the adrenaline-pumping trailer for the biopic, which also featured a deadly assassination attempt, the movie has made headlines for the promising performances from the stellar cast as well as the captivating shots of Marley's revolutionary life and musical career.

Apart from Kingsley Ben-Adir, Bob Marley: One Love also stars Lashana Lynch as Bob Marley’s wife, Rita Marley. The film is co-written by Zach Baylin, Frank E. Flowers, and Terence Winter and co-produced by Ziggy Marley.
