After last year's Roktobeej, Abir Chatterjee is again playing a cop in Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s upcoming directorial venture, Bohurupee. His first look motion poster was released on the day of Rath Yatra. Tollywood's handsome hunk posed in a daredevil mood.
Bohurupee is scheduled to be released during Puja. According to sources, Anik Dutta's Joto Kando Kolkatay, which also features Abir, may release in Puja too. If that happens, there will be two films of Abir in this Puja.
The superhit film Roktobeej was the game-changer in last year's Puja. Abir, along with Mimi Chakraborty, Anashua Majumdar, and Victor Banerjee, caught the audience's attention as IG Pankaj Sinha. In Bohurupee, Abir will play SI Sumanta Ghoshal. In the motion poster, he was seen aiming a gun and chasing the criminals.
The film is based on a true story, covering from 1998 to 2003-05 in West Bengal. The story is based on a significant burglary that happened in West Bengal at that time. Shiboprosad said that the real-life characters were still alive. He was seriously hurt during the shooting in April. He jumped from height in an action sequence and sustained back injuries. He was promptly taken to a hospital and a crack in the bone was detected. Shiboprosad came home on April 8. The shooting restarted after he took a rest. Ritabharai Chakraborty and Koushani Mukherjee, along with Abir and Shiboprosad, also acted in the film.
Shiboprosad previously shared an emotional post about Bohurupee on social media. “Bohurupee was conceived in 2012. There was a wait of 12 years. At last, the shooting ended. Shooting of 32 days, 78 locations, and relentless labor of the unit members. Sometimes storms, rain, and sometimes 45-degree temperatures – they worked with all these. There were accidents, then waiting, and then the comeback. Everything was possible for your love and the blessing of Ma Annapurna. See you during Puja on the big screen. We will try to fill your heart.”
