Abir Chatterjee and Ritabhari Chakraborty paired up for the first time in Aritra Mukherjee’s Fatafati. Now they are all set to be back again on the big screen. This time, Koushani Mukherjee will also join them. They will be seen in Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Bohurupi. After offering a hit with Raktabeej during Durga Puja 2023, the director duo will bring their new film during Puja this year. Shiboprosad said that they planned this film years ago while making Muktodhara. The plot starts in 1998 and goes on till 2003.
In an interview, Shiboprosad said that the film delves into an important crime story in real life. “It is important in the history of Lalbazar – Kolkata Police HQ. The film was postponed during Covid 19,” he said.
He further informed that Bohurupi will be one of their most expensive films. They will take nearly 40 days to shoot the film. In that case, this will surely be the longest schedule in Shiboprosad and Nandita’s direction career. They will shoot in Bolpur, Barahanagar, Beldanga, Bantala, and other locations in Bengal.
Shiboprosad further added that the real-life people during the incident are still alive and they recorded their experience to the makers. In fact, they are aiming to make a documentary, along with the feature film, Bohurupi.
Abir thanked the makers for bringing his pair with Ritabhari back. Besides Fatafati, Abir also plays the lead in Raktabeej. Indranath Mark will work as the DOP in the film. Anupam Roy, Bonnie Chakraborty, and Prabuddha Banerjee will work on the music. The shooting will start on March 12.
